چکیده
Due to the capability of tolerating high error rate and generating more key bits per trial, high-dimensional quantum distribution attracts wide interest. Despite great progresses in distribution, there are still some gaps between theory experiment. One these is that security secret heavily depends on number emitted signals. So far, existing proofs only suitable case with an infinite or unpractically large Here, by introducing idea “key classification” developing relevant techniques based uncertainty relation for smooth entropies, we propose a tight finite-key analysis generalized protocols. Benefitting from our theory, protocols finite resources become experimentally feasible.Received 31 August 2020Accepted 23 March 2021DOI:https://doi.org/10.1103/PhysRevResearch.3.023019Published American Physical Society under terms Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license. Tight finite-key analysis for quantum cryptography
Despite enormous theoretical and experimental progress in quantum cryptography, the security of most current implementations of quantum key distribution is still not rigorously established. One significant problem is that the security of the final key strongly depends on the number, M, of signals exchanged between the legitimate parties. Yet, existing security proofs are often only valid asympt...
متن کاملFinite-key analysis for time-energy high-dimensional quantum key distribution
Time-energy high-dimensional quantum key distribution (HD-QKD) leverages the high-dimensional nature of time-energy entangled biphotons and the loss tolerance from the discrete nature of single-photon detection thus enabling long-distance key distribution with high photon information efficiency (PIE). However, the security of HD-QKD has only been proven in the asymptotic regime, or in the finit...
متن کاملFinite-key analysis of high-dimensional time-energy entanglement-based quantum key distribution
We present a security analysis against collective attacks for a time-energy entanglement-based quantum key distribution protocol, given the practical constraints of single photon detector efficiency, channel loss, and finite-key considerations. We find a positive secure-key capacity when the key length increases beyond 104 for eight-dimensional systems. The minimum key length required is reduce...
متن کاملFinite-key analysis for practical implementations of quantum key distribution
The lists of bits processed in quantum key distribution are necessarily of finite length. The need for finite-key unconditional security bounds was recognized long ago, but the theoretical tools have become available only very recently. We provide finite-key unconditional security bounds for two practical implementations of the Bennett–Brassard 1984 coding: prepareand-measure implementations wi...
متن کاملFinite-key analysis for measurement-device-independent quantum key distribution.
Quantum key distribution promises unconditionally secure communications. However, as practical devices tend to deviate from their specifications, the security of some practical systems is no longer valid. In particular, an adversary can exploit imperfect detectors to learn a large part of the secret key, even though the security proof claims otherwise. Recently, a practical approach--measuremen...
